| About JIC
Jubail Industrial College (JIC) has its roots in 1978 when the RCJY established a skills training center to develop skilled manpower required by the Kingdom. In 1982, the skills training center was upgraded into an institute named the Royal Commission Human Resources Development Institute in Jubail. The Manpower Council of the Government of Saudi Arabia issued a decree in 1989 to transform the institute into a full-fledged engineering and business college, named Jubail Industrial College. This was established to serve the educational and training needs of the newly created Jubail Industrial City and the local and regional community of the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
In 2022, Jubail University College (JUC), which is an NCAAA accredited institution merged with Jubail Industrial College. The new structure was part of the Royal Commission’s new strategy in which the education sector was restructured to make use of the synergies between the cities as well as the realization of operational efficiency by creating shared services within the education sector in each city. Thus, Jubail Industrial College underwent a significant structural change, because of the implementation of the new RCJY business strategy, the General Directorate of Education in Jubail (GDEJ), and the merger process between JIC and JUC, where a new organizational structure was issued and implemented.
Due to the merger a new organizational structure for education and training departments resulted, that included 23 programs in different specializations. In addition, it offers several special training programs, professional certification courses, and professional development programs tailored to the specific needs of the industry to help companies build their human capital. All the academic and special programs offered by JIC comply with the national and international standards and are indeed accredited by prestigious accreditation bodies such as the National Center for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation (NCAAA), the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (ETAC and EAC of ABET), the Accreditation Council for Business School Programs (ACBSP), the Canadian Technology Board (CTAB), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
